If anyone gets a message from PayPal subject "Important Notification" beware!
Report it to PayPAL thru their legitimate website. Do not use the link provided in the email message. Someone is trying to steal your credit info!
I got a fraud email today so you might get one too.
PayPal Beware!
I've gotten them in the past saying that they needed to verify my information. We reported them, and Pay Pal confirmed that they were fruad.
We've also gotten them from banks we have accounts with and banks we don't have accounts with saying they need to verify our information. They were fraud too. I feel bad for people that have fallen for these scams. They make them look very realistic.
It's been over a year since I've gotten this kind of message. You are so right that they look very realistic. My reply from PayPal was that it was generated thru Ebay. Scary stuff for newbies that are just starting their brug collections and might be new to both Ebay and Paypal. :(
I just got another one from "Paypal" the second one this week. I just always forward it to the real Paypal.
Yep.. I don't get them on my regular account but started getting them at my work email. which is amusing to me since I never have used my work email for any account. I am pretty suspicious of anything I get unless i Know I initiated it.. and if you follow the "never click an email link" rule you'll be fine
Yeah! I get tons of them since I had an online biz... The hackers are also mocking ebay, chase bank, etc.... The best thing to identify them is PayPal or Ebay or anyone you do business with, will address you by your full name... They will not identify you by "Valued PayPal customer" or your email address. Thank you for posting this, everyone needs to know so we can ENJOY the internet and not be it's victim.. It is dangerous out there..
If you get any eMail from EBay - or- Pay Pal Just FORWARD it to
spoof@ebay.com
spoof@paypal.com
respectively
They answer pretty darn quick and let you know if it is from them or not.
All my replies from the spoof addies have confirmed that they were indeed form someone else.
NEVER have gotten a spoof reply that said " That's OK it is from us"
Simple to remember and ALWAYS do this to protect yourself.
Happy Shopping ;-)
