Second year seedling

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

This is a seedling of Susie's crosses. The leaves look pitiful from the big hail storm, high winds and heavy rain.

This is another view.

I like, Ada!! Now it looks like orange and yellow. LOL. Is the center more yellow? That one leaf on the right side in the first picture is so holey. What hail you must have had.

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Gorgeous color! I love it!

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Yes, the center is more yellow. Yes, we had a terrible hail storm from dime size to the size of a small tangerine. The roofing companies are loving it because there's so many roofs that will have to be replaced.

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Very pretty Ada !!

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Congratulations Ada, the tendrils look great, and its so nice to see that color. I hope it proves to be a worthy brug.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Thanks. This is the second year I've grown her and she's a good bloomer.
Carolina Vanity is the name I've picked for her.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Wow Ada, that's pretty.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Very pretty Ada and the color is refreshing. How does this one do doing the hot part of the day and tell us about her fragrance.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Great name Ada. Another Susie pretty!

Needville, TX(Zone 9a)

Lovely Ada!

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Hi Frannie. Great to see you posting. Hope you're doing well. It does good in the hot of the day and has a fragance but can't tell you too much about the smell with the cold and allergies I've had for almost two months. Thanks, Susie, kell and Pam. Susie you did good.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Thanks Ada. I am trying to be a more frequent visitor. I have missed many of my friends. Last year was not a good year but so far things are better now. I have working to make a garden along my creek and will take time in the next couple of days to post pictures......nothing fancy and no more formal gardens like I use to have......just plain country gardening and besides that......I am so much slower than I use to be and I take many more breaks. I hope things are going well with you and family.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Frannie, we're all getting slower. We'd love to see pictures of you garden. We've missed you greatly. Just don't over do and take care of yourself.

Premont, TX(Zone 9b)

Thats a beautiful brug Ada !

elva

That is a beauty Ada..
Love the color and the corolla tube appears to have quite a bit of length to it. Does it?
Well done you two.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Thanks, Kin. It's a good sized bloom and I hate to say it but I haven't taken any measurements. Too much to do and not enough time. LOL

Oh Believe me I understand.
I hope to get some blooms this summer from some of your seeds Ada. I will be sure to show and tell once I get some blooms.

We are having a break in the rains now so I'm trying to catch up on some things. Tired of moving my pots back and forth and providing shelter for some of them. LOL

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

I went thru that last year, Kin. I don't envy you. LOL This year we're about 12 inches behind on the rain table.Last year we had gully washers. The weather is weird everywhere. We were in the 90's then for about a week the nights were 50's.

It sure seems that way Ada.
We had one day last month that we had a record high. 95 degrees. Some of my poor babies got sunburn branches on one side! I sure hope we all get the perfect weather conditions for our Brugs this year.
;)

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

Ada, I agree with you, what's up with our weather here??? So far we have had three hail storms. I've had to put my little seedling under cover. The big ones can handle some hail but the babies sure can't.
This one sure is a beauty, Is she gonna be another "Carolina Something"?

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Kin, I get sunbruned at 95 degrees too. LOL I sure hope we get some ideal weather.
Melanie, maybe we need to move. LOL I'm thinking Carolina Vanity as a name for this one.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

I get sunburned too and when I wilt, I look much worse than the brugs......lol .....and it takes me more time to revive than it does them.

Kin, your weather should be ideal for brugs in the summer although 95 seems rather high for your area.

Frannie, Yes we do have very good conditions for them. We do usually have hot dry summers. September and October I usually get some wonderful flushes on the brugs.

I also melt when we have days in the Upper 90's. I look like one of those red bulbed thermometers. When I forget to wear a hat on my big old bald head!!!! LOL

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Keep that hat on when it is hot and sunny! I look forward to seeing your beautiful blooms.

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

Ada....we really need to talk!! LOL!! More hail this morning, will it ever stop??? I have one itty bitty bud on Eternity, and I am protecting it with my life!
I just knew that a Carolina series would be right for all of your beauties!! And most definitly no one else has Carolina anything, but you, in the brug family anyway.
Carolina Vanity is just awesome!
Good Luck with her.

edited , I just can't seem to spell this morning
