bulbs on sale now...what to do with them

Gainesville, FL(Zone 9a)

Have a new place...anxious to get started...was wondering if I bought bulbs, now that were on sale...such as oriental lilies...can i plant them now, or do i store them in the refrigerator till next spring. So many nice bulbs on sale....making me nuts....just dont want to throw away good money and time for 'not'. thanks

Raleigh, NC(Zone 7b)

Plant them now and hope for the best. It's a bit late to be buying bulbs, especially lilies that were probably dug last fall.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Yes, you will want to plant them now. They will be short this year but normal size next year.

Westford, MA(Zone 5b)

You may want to pass them by unless they are really cheap say 70-90% off or free. My experience buying the discounted bulbs/tubers/etc. hasn't been too encouraging so I don't buy these anymore. Life is too short to have to make up time on subpar bulbs.

Appreciate that...will put my order in for some fall bulbs and spring bulbs to ship next year...give me more time to plan anyway...just hate to waste a year letting those oriental bulbs grow. One thing is for sure...never a shortage of work to keep me busy till then!
