Hi Herbies!
I am rooting some mint at the moment and the leaves are getting round brown spots. Does anyone know what is that?
thank you

brown spots on mint cuttings
Hmmm.... the second grade class that I brought mint cuttings to a couple of weeks ago reported the same thing on some of the leaves.... I thought in their case it was because the tray of mints had not been moved to where it could get any light. Are your mint cuttings getting some light? Are you changing the water every day or so? If so, then I don't have a clue about the spots, LOL. But if they strike roots, pot them up, and they should resprout and do just fine.
Hi Critter!
They are in a place that is a bit shady. I have just potted them up and put them in the sunshine. I removed the bad leaves. Thank you.
Keep them moist, and they should come around. Good luck!
Cuttings generally seem to like bright but not direct light (can get too hot). Mine do fine on the counter behind my kitchen sink, about 10 feet from some bright south-facing windows. Having them by the sink also means I'll be a little better about changing the water every day (ok, maybe every other day).
It is what I did with mine. I put them by the kitchen sink so I remembered to change the water daily. :o)
I have spots on mine sometimes too, I look around and see beetles doing the damage. seems it's where they've eaten or done something else on the leaves LOL
but I've come to the conclusion that it's the little buggers doing the damage.

There'd better not be any beetles on the cuttings behind my sink!
Actually, I've been pretty well invaded this week... I think I've seen at least half a dozen different insects around the house & on my indoor plants, same ones I'm seeing outside, so I'm busy checking the screen door for holes! DH thinks I brought them inside somehow as eggs/larvae and then they hatched.... urk!
See my post on a beetle thats leaving browns spots and they are on ALL my herbs! GRRRRR!!!
