Something is really going to town on my eggplant, but I haven't found what. I searched the underside of leaves, and nothing obvious there. The poor leaves are riddled with holes, like someone is using them for target practice. boohoo
Any suggestions on what to do? They are growing in straw bales, and so are off the ground. I have seen bugs in the bales, however - roly poly's mostly.
Something is eating my eggplant leaves!
Probably flea beetles, they decimated my eggplants last year. Small black bugs making small holes all over. I think eggplant is one of their favorites.
Yep, flea beetles love eggplant. They are hard to see because they hop off when you look for them, Easy to control with insecticides. Carbaryl, Permethrin and Pyrethrin are among those that are effective. Pyrethrin is the organic certified one.
