Here are my newest babies! Exotic Nebel's Rainbow Plumeria Seeds is what the seeds were called, now we shall see what they look like as they grow! All the seeds sprouted for me and are growing beautifully! A few have 3 new leaves now! Can any of you tell me when you pot them in their own pots and how large should I go for each? I mean how large should the pots be! By the way, Clare if you read this I ordered a heating mat for my cuttings and seedlings! They are staying nice and toasty now!
Bev
Proud plummie mommie!
Bev they're looking good...i would put them in a small styrofoam cup...with holes in bottom for drainage and let them grow a bit..
I start them seperately and then to 10 oz styro as Bob said.
When the roots push out the bottom I move em to 1 Qt plastic iced tea jugs, top removed
Then to 3 gallons when theyre ready.
Seedling root systems develop very quickly under the right conditions.
Pay close attention to moisture levels, fast draining soil at whatever size pot is critical.
They look great!!
Congrats, youre a plumie momma LOL!! ;^)
Bev, they look great! They look so very healthy. I would start them in no less than one-gallon containers and repot them as soon as possible. That is just my opinion because seedlings have a tap root and a strong root system and need the room to grow in. They are generally resistant to rot or damping off when kept constantly moist because of their strong root system so you can worry less! LOL! Michael is right that seedling root systems develop very quickly. They will grow strong and well in one-gallon containers this summer, and then you can repot them next spring into three-gallon or five-gallon containers. Nebel's Rainbow is a nice one! Your hybrid may or may not look like its parents. Good job on getting the heat mats! I just ordered two more myself;-) Here is my Nebel's Rainbow below:

Thanks Bob, Michael and Clare, I am so darn proud of em! Love the picture of your Nebel's Rainbow Clare, yes, I know it may or may not look like the parent. I guess that will be half the fun, just seeing what they look like and the individual beauty of them. I also got some Tricolor seeds from Singapore I am realllllly excited about! I bought these and was thrilled, in the envelope was another package of seeds for me as a gift! I was happy but then it hit me, that is twenty something more seeds! Gosh I will have a full house and be a busy little thing! They are going to be a thrill to watch what they all become!! Ummm... did I mention the Violet Samoan seeds and Kaunani seedling! You were all right, I am so hooked on these and lord help me when it comes time to move all of them into my sunroom when the weather turns! I am going to give a few of my babies to my mom, she is pretty excited! She will want to kick me hard when I get her hooked as well! How long are the seeds viable? Clare I certainly see more heat mats on my gotta get list!
Bev
LOL, Bev! I know some people buy a used waterbed heater when they see them for sale. You may want to get one if it will be more affordable than buying heat mats. I should get one too. Seeds are best sown as soon as possible for best germination, but I know some people have had them sprout after two years if stored properly. Congrats again on all your seed germination success! Yes, it will be fun to see what blooms you get!
