Your experience growing basil Red Rubin?

What are your experiences growing the basil Red Rubin? I am planning to sow seeds shortly and would especially like to know if you valued it for its ornamental value. It was an AAS winner in 1992 but I don't see it mentioned all that often.

leaves are red...not my favorite for culinary purposes but definitely ornamental.

I grew this variety last year & liked it a lot. I thought it was a very nice red-purple shade, definitely ornamental as dmj said. I like a few leaves added to a green salad, and if you put a few sprigs into herbal vinegar, it will turn the vinegar a wonderful rosy-pink color.

Ditto to what Critter said. It adds a very nice red colour to my herb garden, which I love since that garden is pretty overwhelmingly greenish. It's a strong grower once it gets going and it continues to stay nice-looking all summer.
