Moonflower seeds

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

I planted 8 moonflower seeds 15 days ago; 3 are showing tiny signs of growth. Typical?

Lucky you, Mary, I have never gotten a moonflower to grow; other kinds of morning glories but never moonflowers. I imagine they like heat to really get moving and growing.

me too. morning glories galore from seed but I have this one little green bud that just sits there.

BE CAREFUL, otherwise you will have morning glory ALL OVER and you cant get rid of the stuff. The seeds can last 30yrs and the roots can go down over 30 feet!! if you MUST grow the stuff, save yourself, and CONTAIN it in a container, and be SURE to cut the flowers off BEFORE they turn to seed.

are you talking about morning glory that we start from seed and grow up a lattice or bindweed the choker plant that proves there is such thing as an evil plant?

Olympia, WA(Zone 8b)

Field bindweed, morning glory, all the same, no??

NOOOO! Actually, I used to think so too. I grow morning glory from seed in gorgeous blues but the bindweed suffers the Roundup death. All sorts of gardeners here discuss their beautiful morning glories that they plant intentionally!
