I have just edited my rating from neg. to neutral. It is easy to remove. But it does make a ground cover easily and if that is not what you want, then you've just created some work for ya! Many people grow them as indoor plants. Having it near a water faucet, didn't help either. Had I known it grew so well, I would have potted it, then sunk the pot inground. It is hard to be annoyed at it right now, the ground is blue from all these tiny little blooms.
It is beautiful...I wonder if it would be hardy in my zone 7b...I have some partly shaded areas that I would love to have a ground cover...here is a collage of some of my daylilies...I don't have names for most of them, but I have a lot of the yellows...one I have has an eye, I have stella's and also another that was my mom's that is yellow and short and a rebloomer, actually all of three of those are rebloomers for me...
The second one from the left on the bottom is one of the yellows that reblooms and is short like the stella...I will see if I can get a picture of the other ones that were Mom's for you to see..
Janet, the PF say it won't be hard to your area. will have to bring in or grow as houseplant.
Janet, the PF say it isn't hardy in our zone. Would have to pot and bring in or grow as houseplant. I could always send you enough in a 4.05 priority mail box. would be a cheap way to experiment with this plant. Logees charges a good penny for it, oh well, they're lovely but they're just pricey period.
As for DLs, the short one you are talking about is of interest to me.
The one with the eye or the solid yellow?
solid yellow
I have plenty if you would like me to send you some in trade for the violets. I can put them in a pot in the shady area I have and see how they do...bring them into the gargage if needed in the winter...I'll most likely plant some as well to see how they hold up..here's a picture of the yellow one...
that's a good plan, Janet. I will mail them first thing Monday. That DL is absolutely perfect for what I have in mind. thank you very much.
No problem, how many fans are you looking for? LMK
Will try to get them out Monday as well. I would also love to have some of the Ipomea blackie tubers if you still have some of those available...

violets and tubers. you got it. How about 2 DLs fans?
I just send you a few, unless two is all you need. I think if you are planning on a certain arrangement in the yard that two to three fans x 2 will make your clumps more showy faster...will that work. I have plenty! My Mama would be thrilled to know her daylily is going to other states, she just loved them! Do you have any use for some of the taller trumpets in lemon yellow...they have a citrus smell as well? I can throw a few of those in your box if you do. The really multiply nicely and are three to four feet tall.
thanks janet I will take more than two if you can share. as far as the taller ones, I will pass. Have no room for tall plants, just need to fill the front with short stuff. So sweet of you to offer. thanks.
I would love some of that violet. I do not have what you are looking for other than a yellow daylily, but it sounds like you already have that. If you have some left I would like to sase.
Rebecca
Will do, I will try to get them out on Monday.
rebecca I will be glad to send you some for sase. my address is in the exchange.
Chris,
Will be taking them to the post office this morning...enjoy!
Vossner-
I'm a bit late seeing this thread, but interested in your violets. Please email me, if there are any left, and I'll email you what I can trade.

Rebeccan, I got your postage, thank you. I will mail first thing monday.
Thank you Thank you, will be eagerly checking for mail. This was so nice of you, will let you know when the package arrives.

rebecca, you have dmail
Vossner,
Do you have any left? I have been trying to get the blue form of Viola hederacea (Tasmanian Violet) for over a year from Logee's. They lost the mother plant - duh!
I use it as a ground cover, spreads well and you can mow it. Likes the shade here in sunny FL.
All I have to offer is tropicals. I have access to a canna that are green leaved, fire engine red flowers. They only grow to about 4 feet, which is not truly a dwarf, but close compared to some of those 8 footers I have seen in TX. Or maybe something else?
It is raining cats and dogs today, otherwise I would post a photo, so I send this one instead...
dale, you have dmail

Nice pic. What are the flowers that are surrounding the pond?
