Beautiful blooms! I just planted one, do you think it will bloom for me next year? Do you prune it afterwards? thanks.

Possibly - I planted this one last year, though it was already a good size. I have no plans to prune it as of yet. I'll see how it grows. I also have Coppertina and it's even nicer!

Thanks. What makes Coppertina nicer?

The foliage color.

Well, I love the foliage color on Summer Wine as well. It contrasts nicely with the Sunfire coreopsis I planted in front of it, they have burgundy at the base of the petals. It sure is a great time to be a gardener, all the choices we have today in foliage forms and colors! :0)

No argument - I have five or six Summer Wine. However, the Coppertina foliage tint is unlike any other I've seen. As nice as Summer Wine is, there are many plants with that foliage color shade. I agree with you on the choices we have today. As the song said, 'These are the good old days!'
