Bromeliad heaven......

League City, TX(Zone 9a)

Imagine a huge nursery in a small country town, a hidden jewel. This nursery survives on the cash flow from it's landscaping business. The owner collects bromeliads for a hobby. Jim doesn't have a website, no mail order business, and he doesn't take credit cards. He shys away from computers and can't be talked into letting someone else assist with that type of stuff.

One of the greenhouses is chock full of neo's and tillandsias. Pots of neo fireball with pups attached for $5.00 and I didn't see a neo that he was asking more than $20.00 for. Most 6" pots were between 10.00 - 15.00.

Here's a few photos. Can't help thinking he would make a fortune if he would get a website going!

We were wishing this greenhouse was full of hoya but no such luck. Here's a photo of me and Rose318 (Patti) sweating in the Texas heat!

That has got to be on of the best kept operations I have seen, not a weed in sight. I wish it were a little closer, I would stop by....and shop some.

Come on down...bring a truck! Thank goodness it isn't a hoya nursery. My pocketbook was in enough trouble in there as it was.
