Bulbs in pots-Need Advice

Laurel, MD(Zone 7a)

I received bulbs in December from a well known company with an apology for the late delivery. I was unable to put them in the ground as the ground was frozen. We potted them up and put them in the depths of my compost bin and covered them with leaves. They survived and bloomed but now I am uncertain how to handle them. Should I remove them from the pots and plant them now before all the foliage is totally gone or should I remove them from the pots, dry them and plant them in the fall? They are mostly daffodils & grape hyacinths. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Shirley,.

just let them die naturally in the pots. once dried up and gone plant them in the ground. the daffs need all the green the leaves have for next years flowers. if you move them they might die quicker and then the flower production may be stunted the flollowing season.

the grape hyacinths i would let die naturally to in the pots and plant same way i sugested on the daffs.

just water them while green once dead you can replant now or in the fall.

me i just would plant potting mix and all in the ground after dieing naturally.

Thanks. I was thinking that might be the best but really didn't know. At the moment, I can see the spaces where there are no bulbs currently. The daffodils already in the ground are fading quickly now with the heat. I can see where I can safely dig. In another month I might possibly be digging up something when I go to put them in the ground. I just didn't know if one way was better than another.
