There are a few houses in my area that have a certain type of bush in their yards. I've spent many hours trying to identify this bush online but with no success. I do not have the capability of sending in a photo. I've even stopped at the homes and asked but the owners don't seem to know. They think possibly a Japanese Japonica but when I looked up photos, they are not even close. Here goes with the description. The bush is atleast 4ft high and it's shape can best be described as cascading. It blosoms in zone 5 in mid may. It is covered with small (about 1" in dia.) orange flowers that are shaped like mums. Although I haven't observed them close up, the owners say the leaves are quite delicate. The bush spreads quite wide. I've even contacted huge nurseries but they don't have a clue. They are not azaelas and there aren't many things with orange blosoms around here. Any help would be appreciated.
help identify bush without photo
Are they orange or more yellow gold? That could be a Kerria japonica' Pleniflora'. The leaves are bright green serrated and pointed at tip and smallish.
Chicory31 Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. I ended up looking at 2 different photos at Dave's website. One photo looked nothing like it. It was like others I had already seen but the 2nd photo was DEAD ON. That's it. It's my first time posting as a new member. Very pleasant experience.
