Poor little Christine,

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

I've been a bad stepmom to poor little Christine! First she got sunburned one day a couple of months ago when I went to the doctors and didn't get back on time to shut the blind.I took most of her really bad leaves off. Then somehow she got knocked behind the plant stand. When I found her a gave her a good long drink and took all the dead leaves off.Don't really know how long she was back there.Today she is rewarding me with a flower. Negect paying off?

Hey Jan~ What a green thumb you must have that you can get her to flower BEHIND the plant stand~LOL She doesn't look like she's too hurt, what with that lovely bloom:)

The great big leaf to the right is this South Shore Rose ?

You know my daughter shared some of her readings w/ me and this makes a lot of sense- not to take anything away from Jan's efforts but, a plant's real job on earth is to continue the species- sorry guys it's not to make us smile- and the way that a plant continues the species is to produce seed and the way it produces seed is by producing flowers, so when a plant thinks it is going to die it will often send out buds, sometimes many more than it generally would and sometimes only what it can muster! Now this doesn't mean the plant is going to die, just that conditions have put the plant into survival mode. I have had several plalnts, especially outside transplants that didn't want to be transplanted, do just that, produce flowers, even at the wrong time of year, but then after a while they calm down and go back to normal.
