Hi ya From SW FL!

Fort Myers, FL(Zone 10a)

Hi! I'm Noell. I am a Single mom to 4 .. I love working outside in the yard.. I so do not like inside house work! lol

I like LOTS of plants... I have no idea why I have a green thumb... but I do! My family is made up of black dead Kill anything they touch thumbs.

I enjoy vines and roses.. and bulbs.. or roots! I enjoy growing things from "baby" stages! I teach my kids everything I can about growing.. and they sure help out ( not always for the best)

I have a sunflower garden ( I LOVE THEM) some will get up to 15 feet. I have about 30+ kinds of sunflowers.
I also have a few different Gladious' gardens.. I have a few iris's and lilies... bleeding hearts and lots of Morning Glories.

I love trading seeds/ bulbs.

I have lived in Fl my whole life and I"m a 7th Gen Floridian. I'm sick of palm trees.. and you will not see one in my yard! lol

School is out for the summer and I am hoping to show my kids how to grow a veggy/ fruit garden. I have 2 7 yr old and 3 yr old twins.

that is about it! I hope to have lots of fun here make new friends and learn outs about gardening!

Oh and I can't spell worth a darn (sorry)

Welcome...new to DG myself...live in Northern Ontario and enjoy gardening...as well as I might say every other craft...I teach decorative painting -realism..decorate country style, do stained glass etc. so I never stop...but during the summer my love and energy goes into my garden, however, this year, with just purchasing a smaller home I searched the acre of land and could not find a flower..soooo you know how much energy it is taking to do little gardens..my problem is I see gardens (especially at the B&B across the road and want to see mine in the same condition..I have to remember that her's is 10 years of growth and mine a few months...I'm sure I'll get there...
nice gabbing with you
am sure your children will enjoy the ABC's of gardening....

Hi Noel, did you enjoy your first roundup? It was my 3rd and as usual I got lots of ''good stuff''.
I'm happy with all kinds of plants. Have only lived in Florida full time 1 1/2 yrs and am learning slowly. I love those neat little Pygmy date palms, bought two clumps and they almost died from the the frost. I live in a ''cold pocket'' out here in the boonies now. Spent 6 and 6 in a trailer park in S Ft Myers Campground for 14 yrs.

Hi there bmwrx7H..I many months over several years in Bonita Springs - trailer park..loved the orange trees throughout the part-lining each street...last year I went for a week or so and could not believe all the growth...stores etc. was overwhleming..what used to take us 10 minutes to get to was not 30 to 45 in the traffic...I always went to Fort Myers to the big craft show they had late Feb/early March and always spent my allowance for the year lol.....sometimes, we up here in the north, get tired of the pines...but once the snow laddens their branches they are soooo beautiful that once cannot help but look and enjoy!!!!!
