hello,
just wondering if anyone has an idea on how i can try to keep my chickens off the patio and a small paved area without fencing it off. I have 3 of them and they do there business all over the place and its un pleasant to walk around. we have a quite large backyard with heaps of grassed area and was wondering if there any scent liquid or something that i could place on the concreted area that the chickens wont like and keep away from.

I hear you: same problem here. I've had to contain my hens in a large chicken yard b/c they've been wreaking havoc on the plantings.
ahhh, if we could only get them to leave their droppings in the compost pile!!
Some of those droppings are enormous, too. Size of a golf ball. ugh.
I would put them in a fence. We bring some out of the chicken yard, most often the Sultans, they are very sweet and really like people...
