Newbie with a question re: confederate/star jasmine

Dallas, TX(Zone 8a)

Hi, all! Just bought my first house this last fall in Dallas, so I've been spending every available minute in the yard this spring, and when I can't be gardening, I'm reading about gardening. I've got it bad, so you'll probably be seeing lots of me.

I planted a small-ish star jasmine in my front yard (partial shade) last weekend and I noticed today that it has about 3 bright red leaves on it. Is this a good sign? Bad sign? Is it hungry? thirsty? in shock?

Hi and congratulations on your new home!!! Sounds like you're having fun putting your gardens in. Glad to have you here. *g* You'll get a lot of help on these forums.

I have star jasmine too and mine is huge in my backyard. Mine is in shade with only morning sun. Sometimes my plants have shiny red leaves on them too and it doesn't mean a thing. As long as the leaves are healthy. You'll enjoy the jasmine and the fragrance is heavenly. ;)
