Truncated email messages

I am using Internet Explorer 7 and several times a month I will receive an email from family and friends in which the message is cut off about midway through the email text. 90% of the emails that I receive from these same family/friends come through complete without any problems. This truncating problem occurs infrequently and randomly. I have checked with the email senders and there is never any indication on their end that there is a problem with the email - no error reports, no failure to deliver notices, etc. If I ask them to resend the email the same problem occurs, no matter how many times they resend the email. This same problem may be happening to my spam emails but I would not know because I automatically delete them without opening them. Any ideas about what is going on? Any solutions?
