So many sites to check out

(Zone 3b)

With so many sites to "see", it's been fun looking at several so far. I've lived in Palmer, Alaska since 1978 and this is where we'll stay. My sister, "SacValley", told me about Dave's Garden and how she's enjoyed this site as well.

In 1978 my husband was transferred from Calif., to Alaska. Our 3 children were small and we knew no one. It was very hard for the first few months. Now, all 3 "kids" are married, and we have 9 grandchildren, all here in Alaska. Wecould not have had a better life....we love it here, even with all the growth, it's a good place for families.

After driving out of Alaska in early June, it's good to be back. It took 6 days of very long days of travel, but the wildlife and scenery was spectacular. On June 22, the day after Summer Solstice, it snowed on the surrounding mountains. Our plants are off a very slow start as it's been cold and rainy for most of this month, but the past 2 days have been just wonderful with sun day and night, so the growth will pick up. The photo was taken June 23, from our driveway...the wild iris are in bloom now and are a welcome sight.
