WOW thank you for clueing me in about this moth. I was at a friends house last year at night and must have seen these moths at the moonflower. I was convinced they were hummingbirds. I am growing one of these moonflowers for the first time this year and I have been waiting to see the hummingbirds come out at night..... haha

Looks like you photographed a Pink-spotted Hawkmoth (Agrius cingulatus, Sphingidae) visiting your moonflower. It is also gets hawkmoths, especially the Carolina Sphinx (Manduca sexta). Other visitors include the Rustic Sphinx (Manduca rustica) and White-lined Sphinx (Hyles lineata). Moonflower is often recommended for a moth garden.
