Does anyone know how the MATURE leaves on Red Flare look? I've had her for years, and when we moved, I HOPED I had managed to bring a start with me. She starts out with kind of smooth-edged rounded arrow shaped brown leaves. Can someone tell me if they change as she matures?
The small brown ones seems to be growing out of the same plant that is also producing more rounded and toothed edged leaves. Both kinds of leaves are purplish on the back with heavy veining in them. Last year the one with the rounded leaves also produced a bloom that I then thought looked just like Red Flare's bloom, although I had not inkling then that they might be one and the same.
Do I have two plants tangled up together, or is this the same plants?
Thanks for any input.

Water Lilly Red Flare
I have red flare and her pads are dark and toothy. I will try to remember to get a pic later today if no one else has one.
:)
Thanks so much, Charlotte! That's what mine are looking like. The answer is that the leaves change shape and color as they mature.
Incidentally, I have not forgotten our trade. I've tried several cuttings of the double pink brug I promised you in trade for your blue water lily. So far every one I have tried has rotted out. I'm going to wait a while for harder wood to try again. Hopefully that will work.
Please don't run out of patience with me on this one. I'll finally succeed.

Kay... I am so totally embarraseed...I did forget... LOL
My blue did NOT winter over well. I finally threw Tina away...it has been such a pain since I first got it that I decided it wasnt worth the trouble.
I have had an electra survive (which in my opinion is sooo much better than tina) and a n. colorata. IF the weather ever stabilizes here I should be able to get you a baby of one of those sometime this summer.. I will post a note to remind me to ask you on my bulletin board.
So dont be in a rush to root... :)
LOL! Neither one of us is faring to well, huh?
That would be great. Thank you so much.
Kay
