Does anyone have for trade...

any non-AV gessies? I've looked at all the pictures I can stand to look at. They're all gorgeous and (I'm being selfish here) I want some of them to enjoy for myself! :o) I've got AV babies, leaves, and a few suckers I can offer in trade, as well as foliage houseplants, postage money, or even some black walnut tree seedlings! LOL I'd love Petrocosmea, Chirita, Episcia, Alsobia, Sinningia, Streps, etc. Please let me know if you've got any that need a good home.
Thanks everyone!

you don't have Alsobia,Amy ? I have about 35 of them sure you can have a couple. I have Alice, Teddy Bear, Blue Heaven, Chocolate Soldier, Grey Lady Pink Panther Epsicas too !

You sent the Alsobia 'Cygnet' to me, but Rob has a few more that I've drooled over, too.

I guess I should have posted what I already have. Didn't even think about that. I'm sorry!

What I have:

Chirita sinensis 'Hisako'
Alsobia 'Cygnet'
Streps: Cherry Pie, Blue Mars, Kitten Face

Any of the Episcias would be fabulous, Allison! I don't have any of those. Thank you!

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Cool ! Ok you want different Alsobias :))
I might have some extra Strep babies you'd go crazy over too along with Night Blooming Cerus cuttings. And when your Cherry Pie grows up I'd love to beg a leaf please !
How is your Chirita sinensis 'Hisako' ? You should put a leaf down ! They root easy and Fun !

Allison, your boxes of plants are the stuff dreams are made of!
You know I'll send you all the leaves you want!
Chirita sinensis 'Hisako' is doing wonderfully! I separated the smaller plant from the larger one, and the smaller has already put up four more leaves. I'll post a picture soon.

Amy hoping a lot of DG peeps can trade and share with you. I'll give you all I have !

http://www.lauray.com/contents/gesneriads.htm

They had the link posted for Begonia cuttings in Begonia land so I thought I'd check it out I enjoy gorwing from cutting's and just maybe they'd have some Gesneriads !

Thank you, Allison, you're too sweet! Let me know when you need postage money from me and if you want any of the plants or leaves I have. I'm hoping to get some mature plants repotted Monday and some suckers removed, so I should have some leaves and babies to share next week if anyone wants any. I was going to do that yesterday, but decided to wait so whatever I have wouldn't have to sit over the weekend, and I could send them out on Monday to whomever might like them. I repotted EverYoung last weekend and couldn't share the leaves, because I did that on Saturday and with the holiday it would have been Tuesday before they could be mailed. I put all the leaves down, though, so I'll have plantlets to share in the fall.

Anita, if you're reading this, I haven't forgotten you. I'll get your leaves out on Monday, too, and I think I have a baby of the one you were wanting from me...Saturn or Solar, I can't remember, but I have it written down. Things have been crazy around here since vacation, but I'm slowly catching up.

And thanks for the link, Allison. I've never found that place before. I skimmed over it, but will take a closer look. I sure wish Rob had all his Petrocosmea available. I'd really like to try a Petrocosmea. Love the rosettes!

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Maybe someone here in the forum will have some leaves of Petrocosmea

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

oh yes ave my Champagne Jam Nematanthus plant I paid Lorry to pick up and ship for me from the whole sale place. I tried two cutting to root no luck yet. Lorry just sticks it into the soil-less mix. Mine is in a new 12 inch pot same soil-less mix as I use for AV's. All my plants get the same stuff ! I can try sending you a nice size cutting for you to root root ! I also got this cool clip on grow lamp to shine on mine it gets a tiny window light. I am hoping for zillions of flowers. It had lots of buds when I got it but they dropped or fell off. There was a flower. Long tube peachyorange color yellow throat but it was not open I wish I took a picture and opened it up. Hoping for flowers soon !

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

She is wonderful ! I am going to try to root another also !

Thumbnail by Allison_FL

Oh wow Allison! I'm so excited! It all sounds wonderful!! I love the Chirita I have. It's so beautiful even without blooms. And that Nematanthus is gorgeous, too! I'll try rooting it. Are you rooting it the same way you'd put down an AV leaf? If so, I know I can do that. :o)
Thank you so much for sharing with me, Allison!
Big hugs!!

So pretty! I love the colors!

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Yes but I will send a cutting not just a leaf.

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

She is so pretty so much more than the picture. I had another picture I think I took last week or so could not find it. Her foliage is thick, smooth, shiney and dark marroon on back side ! Or deep blood red not sure which but out of this World !

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

I'm so excited to share them all with you Sharon ! Night Blooming Cerus plant cuttings also !
You can send shipping anytime in about two weeks top I plant to be caught up on all shipping except ingo box.
I will Dmail you names of all the Gesneriads I have to send you !
Mine grow in natural light Strep's needing less and cooler which I don't have a lot of. And the others ones are in the window in garden room that can getsome good sun and warm but they really seem to enjoy it !

I'm excited, too! Is the Night Blooming Cerus the same plant as the Queen of the Night you posted the thread about? It is absolutely unreal! I can't imagine blossoms that big. It must be absolutely stunning when it blooms. We're all night-owls here anyway, so seeing it bloom will be right up our alley! It's fragrant, too, isn't it? I'm going to go find that thread you posted.
I'm having so much fun growing these plants, Allison! I thank you and everyone here so much for sharing with me!

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Yes Night blooming Cerus ..is also called Queen of the Night. And if you go to Plant Files she is number one plant ! She is very fragrant ! Nice sweet vanilla !

Found it. Wow! Just too gorgeous! I love fragrant flowers and the smell of vanilla. I'll try to grow one for my grandmother, too. She is in her 80s and doesn't see well at all, so she can't enjoy the flowers of most of my AVs (she just sees a blob of color with no detail, and she has difficulty telling the difference in blues and purples). She certainly can't see the fantasy on those which have it. I know she could see the bloom on Queen of the Night, though, and she'd love the fragrance, too.

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Oh yes ! She will love this plant. And I don't think you can kill it. You can water it when you remember , !
My plants all get the same soil same food everyone is happy ! This plants has not been trans-planted for over a year and we will keep it here a long time as they like root bound and been known to bloom more !
We also now have a plant growing under a tree in a morning sun/shade garden !

Can't kill it...now that's the plant for me! LOL I've been spending so much time with my AVs that my other houseplants have been neglected. They all cope well, though, except the Anthuriums which demand water, so I have to be sure and remember to water them regularly. So far I'm keeping up...

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Do you have pictures of your Anthuriums ? You need to put them on a wicking watering program !

I'm sure I have a picture of them somewhere. I can take some new ones. They haven't bloomed yet. I have one larger one I got at Lowe's last year for $1, and two smaller ones I got in a houseplant trade earlier this year. The smaller ones are red and pink, but I don't know what color the larger one will be. White, I'm sure. I guess they could stay wicked with the wick in the water at all times, couldn't they? Never thought of that... Thanks for the idea, Allison!

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

I would not see why not !
