Has anybody use this for control of mosquito Larve,in there bogs or ponds?

Microbe lift
Thought microbe lift helped to keep pond clean. But then mosquitos don't like clean moveing water, just that stagnate stuff that gets to smellin. I think keep the water clean, have the skimmer located about 180 from the falls. keep the water surface moveing the blood suckkers don't like that. Dragon flies and tad poles take care of the rest.
I do use a form of chem like microbe lift. Think as soon as I can swing it though I will get a salvo skimmer with the two uv lights and save the cost of the microbe lift.

Fish keep the larve down in my little pond,it's the bog areas that need the microbe lift.and as last checking seems to be working.
Those are all good ideas, thanks for posting the info.
Yep bog area. I have mine just part of the perimeter of the pond, all within the linner. Dig down to put a new plant in and it is a little sour. One area of it. I am going to dig it out and put new sand back in as I put in some jointed snake weed. It took over and looked tacky. I know i will lose some of the benificial bacteria when I do it. but as you said microbe lift, would you think just the dry stuff mixed in the sand would help?
I'm sure it would be just fine, whats snake weed?
Does it flower?
Tha savio skimmer does eliminate any mosquito larvae. In these parts the County delivers free mosquito fish to anyone who requests them, based on pond size/volume. They do an excellent job and overwinter just fine. Once you got em, you got em. They don't add much waste or require anything fancy in water quality. Hardy, plain brown little buggers that are no fuss.
Tropic; No snake weed don't have a flower as such, it's blossom is just fuzz the weed is a single stem that has joints simular to bamboo except that this is just 18 -24" tall and you can pull each joint apart. I don't think you would want it it don't look that atractive. It is hard to contain. I don't know the lattin name, I may find a pic. unless I get rid of it first.
Snapple that is great that the County will donate the mosquito fish. That is in everybodys best intrest.
Think I may just check into our county. I really doubt it though ( a private individual might benifit from tax dollars )
They do the worthless fogging tho. Woodbury county run by the good ol boy standard and all but one or two try to run the whole Co. for Sioux city advantage.
Nuff said . Eccept that I would like to get a salvo w/ at least a 35 w uv just don't have it to spare right now.
I got a small uv filter from nursery pro with the foam filters. that plug up frequently. and it can't handle the full flow of an adiquate pump for the pond. I have been reading about thesalvo turbo twist in the forums but when I go to the site it says nothing about turbo twist. but do point out that the larger ones have two uv lights. so where does the name Turbo twist come in????
