Working on my new pond. Any suggestions

Mobile, AL(Zone 8b)

I am working on my new pond. I am renting right now so could not put it in the ground. The pre shaped pond was a gift from my DH for Easter. I am still trying to find the right rocks to put around the edges. I also made a small bog yesterday. It is looking a little droppy but I am hoping it comes to life. Any suggestions on making it better?

I think you are doing a great job on your pond.
Are you going to put in some fish? Either way,I know you enjoy your pond-they are so relaxing.

I have 6 small fantail goldfish in it.

I think it looks great, too. What plants do you have in your bog? (still new to gardening and water gardening)

I have LA iris, purple prickle rush, camelon (sp) , creeping jenny, horse tail reed, pink spiderwort, curly reed and a plant that someone sent me but I don't remeber the name of (it is the one with the broadest leaves in frount of the iris).

Is it lizard's tail?

You should get a yard off topsoil and build it up around the pre-fab pond.
That way you can plant around it and use 1-2" thick fieldstones to hide the contour
rather than big stones to disguise the entire prefab . That way it will look more
natural and still be above ground.

I think you are right Badseed. Great idea PKG. Now to convince the DH lol
