Planted my cuttings now what?

Phoenix, AZ

I recieved 3 - 8 inch cuttings from a friend. After reading up here I let them callous over for a week and then potted them up :) what happens now? Does new growth come from under the soil line? Or does new growth sprout from the existing cuttings? I can't believe I am just discovering these wonderful plants! In the mean time I bought 4 more on e-bay ;)
Thanks for any words of wisdom!

Can be both. What you don't want to do is sit and stare at them! Something about a watched pot comes to mind.

My formula is fish emulsion and winter chill, with large doses of neglect for most of the year, and then obsessive bud/bloom watching for a couple of months each year. :-)

I have Koi ponds, so I'll water it from there :)

Pond water won't do the same thing that fish emulsion does for your plants. It's probably a better source of water than chlorinated city/county water, but doesn't have the nutrient value that fish emulsion fertilizer does. Fish emulsion is actually fish, not just water that fish swim in.

Oh! Hmmmm, I have no plans to grind up any of my wet pets. I'll pick up some fish emulsion :)

Good idea, don't want to grind up the pond puppies. Here's a shot of one of mine sending greetings to his distant cousins in AZ.
