Buddies because they aren't yet big enough to even call buds! LOL
I checked last week and saw no sign of anything, so imagine my surprise today when I spotted a few.....then I started counting and there are probably a couple dozen little "buddies."
Did I say I was so excited?? :-)
Edited to add the name:Epiphyllum oxypetalum

The Queen Has Buddies!
Oh how exciting!
I need to save/print this picture so I'll know what I'm looking for in the near (or not so near) future!! haha
Gorgeous..
Now that I see your bud, I feel silly for asking what my growth was in my other post LOL .. OBVIOUSLY it's not a bud forming. haha
crazy4vines - These are very very tiny.......but even when they are small they are easily identified as buds, not leaves which are generally "flatter" than buds. :-)
Never feel silly.....these things are lovely, maddening, sometimes the blooms are elusive. My tried and true (I know, I know.....I sound like a broken record!) method is fish emulsion and winter chill. Other than that I ignore them and the rewards......well I can't think of another Genus of plants that can consistantly create that "Aaaahhh" reaction from even non-plant lovers.
I've been looking around here locally for fish emulsion with no luck..I started looking after reading EVERY thread in this forum and saw how much you mentioned it. (checked places like walmart/target/pet store)
Until I find it, right now I'm using the beer fertilizer I read about. The plant is hanging under a VERY large shade tree. It gets very little morning sun and the rest of the day is kinda dappled.
I'm willing to wait though!!
I'd ask at Walmart, Target, Home Depot or any nursery! Sometimes it will be in the indoor plant section, generally comes in a plastic gallon container (like Chlorox). If you still can't find it, many online vendors sell it. And if you or your family has sensitive noses, try to order one of the de-odorized versions.
I am not a real proponant of the high end versions, I still buy the cheapest gallon I can find locally......it lasts a very long time! It's a thick sludgey dark brown nasty looking product, but just look at what it does for plants! I think of it as a "chocolate" fix for my Epis. :-)
