Ornithogalum magnum-A charmer with my hosta

Cincinnati (Anderson, OH(Zone 6a)

This Ornithogalum magnum created an enchanting combination with the common white-edged hosta in our front garden--a case of two non descripts creating a lovely duet.

Some say the ornithogalum can be a nuisance but I will be happy if they decide to return next year.

I am not too familiar with ornithogalum--does anyone have other pics to post?

I think the nickname is 'sleepydick'--I wonder why?

Lovely photo - reminds me of when I lived in Philadelphia - I had an oakleafed hydrangea and hostas with a purple allium in the mix.

Thanks for your beautiful photo.
I am planting lots of hosta along a hedge border and looking for lovely combinations.
This is certainly a beautiful pairing.

A very peaceful pic.

It looks like the one I have, ornithogalum longibracteatum, or pregnant onion. At least the blooms look the same. The onion is covered about 90 % with soil and has green blades that emerge from it . Mine bloomed in the middle of winter. I'll see if I can find a pic.

Beautiful!

I think some ornithogalums give others a bad name. I've never seen your variety being invasive. I love the airy quality of it.
