Here is a plant that my neighbor got from her sister that she had rooted in water. I'm not going to post all of the photos again, I'll just give you all the link if that is okay. http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/608287/

You have me but I'd put it in a pot of good potting soil and put it in morning sun/light shade and let it grow. Sense it's a cutting does she have more in her yard you can look at growing ?

I'm not sure but I'll ask her the next time I see her. And I guess that is what I will do. I will put it in some potting soil and see what happens.

I agree with the folks on there that it's likely one of the hardy tall growing sedums....it resembles the cuttings of Sedum 'Autumn Joy' that I got from my MIL a few years back.....but blue flowers?
Was your neighbor certain about that?

Yup I agree also..it is a sedum of some sort

Dallas, TX(Zone 8a)

I am not sure. I will ask her the next time she comes over.
