We had a sprinkler system put in a few months back and where they dug the lines, brown stuff/things are growing. Is this some type of weed? I grows faster and taller than the grass. In some areas the grass is taking over, but in others (In the front yard, of course) it is not. We have used weed/feed earlier this year an a couple of weeks ago. I believe we can no longer add fertilizer since we are about to be in June. Is that true?

Can't tell you about the fertilizer question, but I can definately tell you where they did, weeds grow. We had one put in last fall and this spring I had poppies along the ditch lines in the middle of my yard! Dirt and seeds cling to the blades of the digger and are carried to other areas, plus it brings up dormant seeds and "plants other seed. My biggest complaint is the humps that are left. We still haven't gotten enough rain to settle them all.
