Though I love most natives, I confess I do have a weakness for some unusual tropicals... it's just too tempting in Houston's sauna-like weather not to grow some! I ran across the Vareigated Tapioca on the texas superstar website, and now I'm obsessed with finding one! I absolutely love, love any kind of foliage that's vareigated, or has unusual coloring (chartreuse, purple, etc...) - this small tree/shrub also has a fantastic "mounding" shape/growing pattern that I love...
Has anyone seen this plant for sale in the Houston area (incl. Conroe, Richmond/Rosenberg... even Brenham...)?? I've been looking around online for nurseries that carry it (haven't even had too much luck finding it there either!), but if there's somewhere I could get it (somewhat) locally, that would be preferable! Thanks!!
Kelly
Vareigated tapioca - I must have this!!!
Kelly go to PlantScout here on Dave's and type in Variagated Tapioca Plant and a whole bunch of nursery names will come up that have the plant for sale. Good luck!
I've been wanting one too for a long time now. They are beautiful.
It will have to stay in a pot cuz it isn't winter hardy..even in my zone 9b...
Have you tried Tea's and Cornelius' nurseries?
Debbie
