Aztec Lily, Jacobean Lily
Sprekelia formosissima

Taken 27th May, I noticed the flower bud on the 25th and it was open within 2 days.

A beatiful lily. I wouldn't mind having this one. I only have orange lilies.

Hi pepper, it is just like that in reality. I had one a few years ago but we had a very cold winter and it didn't make it through in my greenhouse. I decided to give it another try, it might be better in the ground as pots can freeze from the sides easier. It can take a few degrees of frost if well buried and mulched, it would have to be overwintered inside in your zone but such a beauty so worth it!

The petals have a sort of rubbery feel, and it has a scent which reminds me of mushrooms with a little spice.

Found a few of this lily. Like yours better though!! LOL. I ws comparing their pics to yours and they were lacking. Nah, they were good, now have to get my hands on one.
