English Peas - young eaten raw - I'm addicted

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

A few months ago we enjoyed a stir fry dish with young fresh green peas, probably snow peas. As a result I went to the local Co-op and bought seeds but they were your basic English Pea variety. Since then we've tried the new Asian Salad at McDonald's with young raw shelled English Peas, yummm.

From this seasons English Peas, I won't have any to shell because every time we pass the vines we have young English Pea Shell snacks. They are the sweetest/best when the pea inside is about 1/4 developed.

I don't know what made me try them in this fashion, but thought I would pass the info along in case there were other people out there who had never try them in a young stage, fresh from the vine. They would be great in a salad if we wouldn't eat them on the way to the kitchen.
