I tried it; put it out last Sunday evening. The rat ran through it a few times that night and since then I haven't heard or seen the little bugger! Thank you Trois!!!!!!

BYW, it doesn't work on squirrels in the bird feeder. The squirrels would eat, jump off, rub their faces on the ground, and then jump right back on to eat.... Now, the feeder I bought that was battery operated, and gave quite a shock (remember to turn off before filling!), worked great!! Provided a few laughs too. Apparently the youngsters were taught not to go near the feeder. The batteries were dead for over a year before the squirrels chanced it again. And I tend to think they were new squirrels to the neighborhood.
