This ligularia (more correctly farfugium) is a great garden plant in zones 9-10

Hi growin. It might be but I bought it as just plain japonicum areomaculatum at my local nursery. I agree that the cresting looks more like the other. What do you suggest i do about it. Look at this!

I was just comparing Ligularia dentata 'Sungold' http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/80252/ to Farfugium japonicum 'Aureomaculata' http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/55089/ to see if they are the same plant and noticed yours was just a bit different and quite nice. Just reply here and I can move it.

I agree that it probably should be moved. I bought it at Roger Reynolds Nursery but they can't get it for me anymore.

LOL Growin, I admit I am so confused which some say is my usual state. This morning you moved a pic of mine from Ligularia tussilaginea Kagami Jishi to Farfugium japonicum Kagami Jishi though I thought the names were interchangeable.

Now I realize the plant I have been drooling over here is on another thread with the same name you moved me over to. So there are 2 now?

I know I am just seeing this wrong, going from one screen to the other .....................

Hmmmm. Now you've got me. Kell, you uploaded the pic of 'Kagami Jishi' under the older name and the pics I suggested from doss to be 'Kagami Jishi'. Do you believe they are the same. I realize I'll have to consolidate these entries. Thanks for pointing that out.

I know nothing Growin. I freely admit. Mine was an immature baby so it might very well be the same. I bought it for a friend of mine who collects farfugiums. I had bought it having been warned that it was fragile having just been transplanted and warned against getting it by the nurseryman. I however just had to have it for my friend. LOL And it promptly died. Though I still water its barren pot hoping it will resurrect itself. LOL!

But I did buy it from a specialty nursery and the gentleman seemingly knows his stuff.
