Fruits and veggies in hot shade?

Dallas, TX(Zone 8a)

Can anyone think of any fruits and vegetables that do well in Texas hot shade.

The only thing that came to mind was Strawberries.
Some of my neighbors have some flowering kale in shade that looks good.
Any others?

I grow Curly Kale which is delicious and very nutricious, even more then Spinach, it is a bienial so it will last two years and the frost won't hurt it, you can harvest it all year long, mine is not in total shade.

These do great in shade from 1 pm on.....shade is very under-rated in Texas if you ask me.

Our garden where we plant our tomatoes gets shade in the late afternoon and evening. It never seemed to hinder their production. In fact I think it actually kept them going longer. Last year we had a few tomatoes as late as December.
