Hi all,
I've got a great deal of space in my backyard that stays in shade for most of the day. It only gets sun in the late afternoon. I would really like to make it lovely as I stare at it each day and dream of what it "could" be with a bit of work.
I have a thick wooded area in my backyard and the shade it casts is considerable.

LoraB, you might check the co-op forum frequently. Different people host hosta, heuchera and other plant co-ops where we go in as a group and buy plants wholesale. We recently did a couple of Heuchera co-ops where we got heucheras for $1 each. They're closed now, but there may be others in the future. It's a great way to get nice plants cheap.
