Creating your own Floating Island...

Emmaus, PA(Zone 6a)

I created my own floating island...
I went to Walmart, got a JUMBO wacky noodle, (the ones we play with when in a pool) (you can use smaller wacky noodles too.)
I cut it into three sections, then cut it lengthwise. (6 pieces)
I laid out some crinillin (you can use any tight netting), laid three pieces on the netting, folding the netting over the noodles, then stapling them together. I have a double netting in the center, where i placed impatiens, coleus, and penneywort, all bareroot.
I did find that using a regular sized noodle would be less showy, so will cut the three pieces lenthwise once again this week.,
Plants are doing well so far, altho weather has cooled the water a bit.

Just thought i would share this idea with you.. :)
