My Frilly

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Hi my name is Frilly I'm a pretty little girl African violet that almost did not live.
My Mom got me from D&P Bargain violets and all we know is my name is " Frilly" I'm a pretty girl with dark green wavy girl foliage.
When my Mom got me I had yucky light green and she treated me and cut all my roots and threw all my soil and old pot away. I was just a crown in isolation for over three months.
Now I'm a pretty girl with my first flowers ~ Just call me Frilly !

More beauty, Allison! You brought that one back from the brink :) Isn't that satisfying when you can bring something back better than it was before??!!

Oh my yes. I bought from D&P when they were going out of business.. all the plants were sick in one way or another but only 1.00 each plus shipping...bad ones went in the trash ASP along with all soil pots packaging material. I just kept some crowns that looked savable. They were treated and put in isolation. Some made it , most did not.
Frilly turned out more beautiful than I could imagine !

Thanks Jill ! She is so sweet. One of the sweetest girls I've had ! Now when I got her her she was a pretty big mess. very light milky green , and a green yucky pot too lol. I did put many leaves down and not one made it they just were not healthy enough or I over treated them. It also took her longer to root I think as they were in isolation in just low window light .
Now under grow lights she does not seem to like it.
I want her to bloom a lot as her flower are so pretty more than I could capture ! Only one so far !
Soon I will try a healthy leaf from her or too. I'm glad my Frilly made it.
Another one that made it is Little Teddy Bear.
I have no info about it. The plant seemed good when it was packed with the most spectacular bouquet of deep royal blue flowers. But it seemed it was packed and wrapped soaked ? and froze ? I save the tiniest crown not much larger than the tip of my baby finger. Many times she's grow a new leaf and one died back and forth. Finaly took hold and now a nice size miniature baby. I'd say this plant is Miniature/semi-miniature ?? It is suckering but the main part of the plant is growing real well. I don't want to mess with it much yet but I keep transplanting to keep it with fresh soil and growing nice. I am pleased to be able to save this one. And two Mini Minx extremly hard to get these crowns I prayed on too. The best Mini Minx is on the way to you !
Mine I broke a leaf off by accident the other day but on the leaf was a cute little baby sucker growing. I am hoping to be able to grow a few more of her to share !

Thanks, Allison -- 'Mini Minx' is one of my favorites of the lovelies you sent me! The foliage is just wonderful, and it's a beautiful little plant. The pic in First Class makes the blooms look similar to 'Smitten Kitten', another of my favorites, so I'm hoping I can keep 'Mini Minx' happy so she'll bloom soon!

I hope Mini Minx blooms green for you ! She's pretty hard one to find so happy I was able to save two crowns !
WOW a Vintage , Girl, and Green..what more could you ask for in an Av !
