Hummingbird Vine

Toronto, ON(Zone 6a)

Is the Hummingbird Vine also called a Trumpet Vine?

Thanks!

Since nobody else answered this, I'll try. No I do't think so. Look up both plants in plantfiles under those common names and you get very different plants. To me Trumpet vine would be a Thunbergia, but it is also a few others, according to where you're from and so on. http://davesgarden.com/pf/adv_search.php?searcher%5Bcommon%5D=Trumpet+vine&searcher%5Bfamily%5D=&searcher%5Bgenus%5D=&searcher%5Bspecies%5D=&searcher%5Bcultivar%5D=&searcher%5Bhybridizer%5D=&search_prefs%5Bsort_by%5D=rating&images_prefs=both&Search=Search

Hummingbird vine brings up the Cypress vine, which can be another mixed bag, but for this search is Ipomoea quamoclit. http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/93/index.html

Hope that helps a bit.

The trumpet Vine is a member of the Honeysuckle family..I have 2 and they climb my arbour..The hummers just love them.. Hummingbird Vine is totally different and from what I understand VERY invasive..
