It is beautiful, Rose. My first one to bloom was H. shepherdii which also came from Susan. She is one sweet-hearted person!

I love the table you have it setting on, too. The wood looks inlaid, cherry and something else, walnut? mahogany? Whatever, it is beautiful.

Thank You Susan, Shirley , Ann for your wonderful comments.

Shirley , My table is mahogany.

Ann , I have never smelled anything like it, so it is difficult to tell you what it smelled like. It is driving me crazy trying to figure out what it does smell like. .

Susan, I will be looking forward to your call. I am in and out of the house working on a flowerbeds. :o)

Nice flowers, Patti. How about coconut like fragrance with a hint of citrus in it...? That's the closest I've come to describing cumingiana.

LOL...it truely IS hard to figure out what that smells like. My friend thinks they smell like lemon pledge and Paul said some kind of cleaning fluid. Ha Ha
I rather like the smell though. I think it smells fresh like after a spring rain.
Mine isn't blooming yet but I have been spraying it with Eleanors so I still have hope. Seems everything is late blooming here this year because it has been so cool all spring.
Congrats on the blooms, Patti.

Oh! That looks like the hoya I posted about in another post!!

I think they are, indeed, the same... that's exciting to see what it will eventually do..

Can you tell me the care of your plant? I've been googling care for this one..

Thanks!

Hi Crazy4vines and welcome to Dave's Garden.
I have them on my deck which is covered with 70 % shade cloth. I don't fuss over them . When I do fuss over plants they die. Go to the sticky at the top of the Hoya forum, and read all the information there. I am a newbie to hoyas, so I am not a good person to ask about hoyas. I am still learning about them myself.
Good Luck
Patti
