Hi doss....been awhile since I've been on the forums. Was checking in the PF on some hosta I have ordered and ran across this picture of your Hosta Lakeside Cupcake. It caught my eye because it is so vastly different from the other 2 images posted in PF for this cultivar. I'm by no shape of the imagination an hosta expert, but I did note that it says its variegation is suppose to be "creamy". Yours appears to be a blue-ish hosta with lime green variegation. Could this image have been uploaded to the wrong cultivar? Maybe this is another Lakeside variety. It is a cute hosta!

Brenda, Thanks for noticing! I don't think that it's wrong but it certainly could be. I believe that the difference could be that this hosta is grown in shade and the photo made it look blue. If you look at the Hosta Library photo I think that you'll find both colorations of the plant. If you disagree after looking there please let me know and I'll take it off. I don't want the photo to stay there if it's misleading.

Well I think you're right on the mark, doss! Thanx for pointing me to the Hosta Library photos. I won't be alarmed if mine shows a little darker coloration then. In fact mine will be in deep shade so it could end up much like yours. Thanks for checking on it.

Hope you have a wonderful 2008 season!

It's one of my favorites Brenda. I'm sure that you will enjoy it! Mine is slow to come up this year and I'm a little worried that I'm losing it to not enough cold here. Guess you don't have that problem! LOL
