Looking to "hire" a friend to help me with the show coming next weekend. It's a one-day thing.
Here's what I'm looking for her to do...
I'll bathe
She braids mane & tail (probably day before show, at my house, with minimal help from me, because I'm not very good at it)
I transport (her, me, & horse, my truck & trailer)
The day of the show.......
Help with leg wrapping, trailer set-up & horse loading (he loads like an ANGEL)
Last-minute braid repairs
Any last-minute tack I forget to clean up (though most of my things are in good shape)
Some light lunging while I gather paperwork
"Mental-prep" for me - talk me through where to go, remind me to stay CALM, and keep horse away until I am calm enough to ride
Any last-minute "pony shining" - baby oil, shosheen, hoof polish, etc
I know I'm providing meals, that's a given. Considering we will probalby leave early Saturday, and she lives about 45 minutes from me, I'm also going to offer my place as an overnight stay before the departure. What do you guys & gals think is a reasonable fee to expect to pay? When I boarded Chewie at her place, these basics were included. Now, that I'm not there, I have no idea what to expect. I don't plan on handing her a nasty muddy horse & walking away to come dressed & ready to mount a bathed, braided, shined, lunged horse, either. I plan on staying around & helping with whatever I can.
Your expedient suggestions are welcomed. :)
Thanks,
Jenn & Chewie
