Hi, I am new to your wonderful gardening community.

Hanson, KY(Zone 6a)

My Grandmother and Mother always loved to garden and had beautiful large beds full of all kinds of flowers and plants. I guess since I had to do so much weeding on those beds as a child, I developed a disdain for having anything to do with gardening. haha....look at me now.....as I have aged, I have abandoned that disdain and there aren't enough hours in the day for me to be out either weeding, creating new beds, or feeding my now voracious appetite to learn all I can about how to be the best gardener I can be. My Grandma Hattie would be so proud....I bet she is smiling down from Heaven. All that instilling she tried to put into me about her love of gardening....it took...it just took a while to bloom.

Happy to be here and look forward to learning all I can from all of you.

Welcome, nana, to DG. So glad to have you posting.

Tell us a little about the garden you are growing?...and any pics to share?

I was the same way, only with my grandma and my mom. Fortunately, the bug hit me when I worked at Jackson & Perkins and had to learn about the products customers ordered. So, I got a jump start! :) Welcome to DG!

Thank all of you for the warm welcome. I just love Dave's Garden and I am learning so much from reading all of your posts. You all are my inspiration. I look at photos of your lovely flowergardens and I hope to someday have beds that are half as pretty.

Tabasco, I have beds I have started this year that would be considered my largest beds and they aren't yet worthy of being photographed since they are just in the starting stages. When I start to have enough plant, flower growth and blooms...I will post some pics for you. (hee-hee...you may wish you hadn't ask to see pics when I start snapping shots and driving you bonkers with all my "posy pictures".

Contrary, Nana -- your beds are begging to be photographed because they are in the starting stages! Shoot, we look at and enjoy pictures of lilac sticks plunked in the ground in hopes they'll grow. Each year, as your garden grows, you can bring up your old posts and add to them, showing the change from one year to the next. Shoot, even one month to the next can make a huge difference. Post those pictures. :)
