WOW!! Fabulous boxes from Lorry & Lali!!!
Oh my goodness Jill ! You hit the jack-pot Yipee WOW .. Terrific plants WOW . Now wait you get my box Saturday ! I think you need a new light stand. WOW great great plants from both Lorry and Laurie ! Super Super excited for you !
It's amazing so many plants from Lorry and laruei and I and no doubles ! And wow Wonderous Girl from Laurie my babies were too small :((
And my Honey Blue Angel suckered so much when I took it aprat made three small babies so happy you got from Laurie Yippee .
I cleared two 10 inch wide, 6 foot long shelves in the morning room (they get good natural light plus have florescent fixtures now also) to use for my new AVs so they could be isolated. Those shelves are now nearly full, even with stacking my leaf containers! I have enough space for about one nursery flat of plants yet, and then I am going to have to start getting creative, LOL. I'm going to put Allison's nice wicked pots on a grid over one of my new green trays.
I am just beyond delighted with all my new plants!!
Lali, I am still potting up.... !! And I have a whole tray of cuttings rooting in water, too. I'm going to take some of the begonias and plectranthus up to my mom in Pittsburgh, as she has a mostly-shaded porch where I think they'd do well. Thank you!
What ya bringing me when ya come to Pittsburgh Jill? LOL I hope you know I'm joking
Awesome boxes!!
Janis
My plectranthus Lali sent me some cuttings I rooted them inside now in the garden beds our shade garden gets morning sun I noticed today Lali flowers on them already and the plants are creeping all over :))

WOw Super neat box Bob ! Your so luckt :))
Oh -- Plectranthus flowers too?? I thought they were just really cool foliage plants!
Woofens, I'm going to try to make it up for that plant swap, but not sure if I'll be able to make it. If I do, I bet I'll still have some extra Torenia seedlings! You'll have to tell me if you've been eyeing any of my AVs in particular, and I'll be sure to put down a leaf for you!
I put a bunch of the trailing-looking succulent cuttings down in a window box planter and gave them a good watering. The rosette-looking succulents are having an overnight drink, and I'll be potting them up in the morning. I'll also try to get back on this computer in the morning so I can post the pictures I took of my bounty!
Wonderful fun boxes !
I love seeing what everyone got !
I hope my second Easter/Mom's day Secret swap buddy liked her box ! Have not seen her post for a long time .
Great boxes Jill, and not a duplicate... I can hardly wait for the pictures of all your new babies...Lauri
Jill, pretty soon you will have to go into business. OR maybe you already are.
What a wonderful surprise!
LOL.... I think trading is more fun than selling! DH is shaking his head, saying, I thought you were going to trade your AVs for *outdoor* plants.... I am getting outdoor plants from folks, but I couldn't resist these AVs!
Congratulations on your good fortune!! And way to go Lorry and Lali :)) I think trading is the most fun ever! Can't wait until my babies all grow big and I have lots to trade, too:)))
way cool!

Lali tell us about your Lyndon Lyons ! How was it what did you get pictures please :))
ok, I'm busy trying to organize today, plus had to stack up some hay bales since we're getting a late rain and they weren't covered...
I haven't even had much of a chance to catch up on Daves the last few days.
I'll find the camera, and try to post some photos of the Lyons stuff. (all very good and nice big plants!) and drum roll please.... Emerald City Chimera!!! (fully blooming)
WOW Super !
and wish you could send the rain here !
No thank you miss Critter :) I simply adore everyone!
You guys are truly special and I can't believe how lulcky I am to be a part of this group :)
Lali, I'm delighted that they all arrived safely! I'm sorry I didn't have room for the SG & others, but I wanted to be able to pack in the styrofoam box for extra "trip insurance."
The crown is also "Baby Jay." I hope it strikes roots for you -- it's a cutie, with deep blue bell flowers! 'Tiger Trail' has become one of my favorites also... it's one that I bought from VG for MsC last fall and snitched a crown from. before I boxed it up... I love the foliage, and just wait until it blooms!
Lorry's box encountered some hot conditions along the way, and some of the little plantlets arrived looking pretty droopy. I swear the USPS must store boxes marked "plants handle with care" in special unairconditioned oven-style warehouses! I potted them into this shallow salad container with moist potting mix, and with the extra humidity under the vented lid they are now all coming around. Actually, they looked much better even by the next day when I took this photo. I need to take an "after" photo to show you how much better they look now... even 'Sweet Sam', the one in the lower left that I was really worried about, is starting to crisp up again! YAY!!
This vast array of succulent cuttings from Lali was a sight to behold! There will be plenty to underplant my two citrus tree pots, with plants left over to share with my neighbor who has been missing Texas (she did a lot of ooooooohing when she saw them). I laid the trailing branches down in a windowbox planter so they could root before I put them in their permanant pots. There were enough "rosette" type succulents to fill an entire tray of little pots! With the ones that had long "stems" attached, I just stuck the stem vertically down into the pot, which I hope was the right way to root them.
WOW you hit the jack pot ! Have fun rooting them all !
Thanks for the photo update Jill! Hope you enjoy them! And if you need ID on anything, just shoot me a photo and I'll do my best. Some I don't know others I do.
in the photo just above, left it's Silver Plectranthus (not sure which one), behind that looking kind of alligatorish is 'Mother of Millions' - kalanchoe sp.,
in front of that is a crassula sp, and then florist's kalanchoe.
Oh cool, I'd wondered what the "alligatorish" one was -- it's really neat!
Much prettier foliage on that Kalanchoe than on the ones I've seen around here... I get them in bloom, enjoy them, and then they never bloom again for me and after a while I just get tired of them!
Lots of cute little babies there girl :)
You are gonna be a busy new mommy :)
Oh my goodness is she going to be busy !
If all those cuttings root, I'm guessing I'll end up with another 2 flats of plants to pot up! Actually, I think I will take some of the begonia & plectranthus cuttings up to Pittsburgh with me this weekend. My mom gets morning sun on her mostly shaded back porch, so I'm thinking they might do well for her. I also have a flat of cute little Torenia seedlings for her, already blooming!
I love the "faces" on the Torenia... I call them "shade pansies" LOL Here they are growing under the bench by my front walk last summer....
Oh those are so cute and pretty ! Hubby bought a few of the blue ones. Did you grow your by seed ? And you have a whole flat ? Wow !
When Laurie sent me zillions of leaves, and Begonia cuttings and all those other plants. I have one named Saw tooth I think ? I have no idea what it is or what it does but it's growing. I rooted all the Begonia cuttings and other plants in same soil as Av's and all rooted fast and have been growing crazy. I had a lot of 4 inch hard plastic pots smaller than normal 4 inch. I filled them with soil stuck the cuttings all the way in watered threw real good. Oh yes I treated everyone with neem oil. Some pots went in the kitchen window some were in mini greenhouse in natural light also. I can't beleive how fast they rooted. I took one plant last week it was just a little cutting I made three nice plants ! I have several Begonia growing in our morning sun / shade garden growing wild, blooming :)) The plectranthus cuttings think thats their name rooted and grew fast out of their 4 inch pots nice and full, now they are full, bushy, scampering all over the ground up the side of a tree , blooming . I think their having fun ! She sent a geranium cutting here also growing well all outside in our fun morning sun/shade garden. It's just a big fun garden everything grows together and is Happy !
Hmmm, I've got the begonia & plectranthus cuttings in water to root, maybe I should just stick them... that might have to wait until next week, LOL.
I grew Torenia from seed (expensive seed, let me add) last year, and I saved a whole bunch of the tiny seeds. I sowed them in a little seed starting tray (aka salad container with holes in top & bottom) and then transplanted to cell packs when they had one or two pairs of true leaves. They grew out just fine and even seem to be mostly coming true to the color that was saved. They do need an 8 to 10 week start before planting out, but my little seedlings are all nice & bushy & blooming now.
If anyone wants Torenia seed, just LMK! It's been stored at room temp, and I assume it will germinate just fine next spring, although I may try to get some fresh seed at the end of summer.
That's really neat Jill !
Well I always have soil made u if not Hubby makes me it AS :))
And I always have pots well 1 percent of the time I run out.
Many Laurie sent little labels too made it so eash to fill the pots with soil trim cutting stem like leaves to the lenght I wanted and stick in soil water stick in window, light ... and they root and grow super fast !
