Wow, Starfly, that is a beautiful plant. And what a great shelf set-up...Very nice!!!! Pam

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

WOW your shelf set up is awesome !
Do those kind og Begonias need lots of light/sun and humidity and grow better outside ?? I am not sure just wondering ?
Hubby planted a lot of my Beginia plants I grew and lots Laurie sent me cuttings of and I rooted them and grew them big into 4 inch pots inside. They are out now in morning sun/shade garden and growing crazy !

Oh that is such a lovely begonia! I too kill them, in fact I have been tempted so many times that I lost count and now I just look longingly.

Allison my DH & kids all tell me that if I want to win the lottery I have to play! I gave up playing after many years of losing. I would buy those lighted plant carts in a minute if I won! Wouldn't that be wonderful?

I do know friends who won the lottery, 14 million. When they tell you money can't buy happiness, don't believe it. Of course these folks were pretty happy before. They told their kids they had to go to college, no ifs, ands or buts; paid for a nice education for each kids at a really good private college and even though the kids now have lots of money, they work real jobs....they just dress better! LOL. It couldn't have happened to nicer people, really.

I've never owned a begonia but I've always thought they were really pretty. And that yellow is just so beautiful. Yellow flowers are my favorite. But I'm afraid that if I bought one I would probably kill it too. I have found that I just cannot tend to all of the plants that I want. So when I buy something other than AVs and C&Ss, they wind up dying. So I guess I will stick to what I'm best at. I did buy a few flowers for outside because HD had such a great sale. I still have not potted them yet. That is my job for later today.

Starfly,

I forgot to tell you how beautiful your home is and what a wonderful set up you have in there with all of your plants. It looks so cozy in your house. I'm sure it is.

Yes it is hard cleaning but so worth it. I have all kinds of little statues and I'm trying to get my house organized so that I can display them. I just got a new desk, the desk of my dreams. I've never had a desk like this before and I'm so excited. When I have it all set up I will post some photos. Office Max had a huge sale because they are closing the store that is close to me. The desk was well over $500 but we did not pay even half that much and I'm so happy. And I have plants hanging from from the top of the window and part of my desk faces the window so I can watch the birds everyday. It is so nice to get things organized. I can hardly wait until we get it all finished.

that sound so wonderfull, looking out the window watching the birds,we have so many birds here.i had a beautifull little blue bird last year that had 4 babies right out my front door in a dogwood tree the hurricain tore up so we built a birdhouse on top of it, he came back this year but another bird had took over it so he,s gone, but there plenty more

will be watching far photos

I always killed begonias also until I put mine in a self watering pot. It is really pretty and not rotting.

are you talking about the pots we use far violets
with the wicking are is it different

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

your home is beautiful Eunice !

Missouri City, TX(Zone 9a)

I think self watering pots are the answer for me...I have yet to be able to break the overwatering habit; Lauren had a good idea, using the moisture meter...will probably need to do that. Again the 2 AVs that continue to bloom no matter what are the 2 NOIDS in self watering pots.
