New Herb bed in Zone 8?

North Augusta, SC(Zone 8a)

I'm planning a new herb bed and intend to grow different basils, thyme, dill, lemon grass, oregano and sage. Can I grow all of these in full sun considering the heat of our summer's? Shade is VERY limited.
I've been growing a few in containers but would like to expand my selections.
Thanks,
Alice

Alice, my old mother-in-law grew dill like crazy here in 9a, but it was in the open. I've tried to grow it on a patio and the poor thing just bakes. (I'm moving in a week and I'll have a YARD and a GARDEN -- hooray!) Anyway, make sure it has air as well as sun. My thyme, oregano, basil, and sage are doing fine as long as I can keep them from baking. So -- I'm assuming you have a yard and not a patio garden; from my experience, they should do fine. The thyme and dill are the most tender, so you might want to make sure they have some shade.

Lemon grass I have no experience with. I put a plug of sweetgrass in a pot and the cats ate it! But it's growing back. Good luck!
