Silsbee, TX(Zone 9a)

Hey, my stuff came today. Thank you sooo very much! They look great. I was so excited when I opened the box, I made my dh come and watch since these are for him.

Now I just have to do the dishes so I can pot them up. Bummer, LOL!!

You mean the Crypt, right Ali? It is beautiful, with it's bright pink edges. I can't wait to see them grow and see who they turn into!

You all are so lucky to be able to grow these outside. I'll have mine out in the summer, in dh's little garden, but in pots. I'm still considering whether or not to put the pots in the ground or set them up on something. His garden is starting from scratch this year, so we'll see. They may have to go in the ground this year just so I don't have so much exposed soil.

I just said this on another thread, but I've really got to consider a move to a zone like yours! One of these days we will....when retirement gets here. LOL!

Cryptanthus are bromeliads :) it is a sub species or however you should say that :)
they require a little different care though ie you dont' fill their vases full of water :)
they are true ground dwellers also so they don't get treated like air plants
:) I am so glad you guys liked the plants :) the cryptanthus elaine I only had to share because someone was generous enough to send me so many plants
