Adzumplus and azomite

Springfield, OH(Zone 5b)

Many moons ago we had a thread going where we were talking about this. The good news is that I got ahold of a 20 lb bag. When I moved the brugs from the house into the greenhouse I put a scoop into each pot and worked it into the soil. Most of these brugs were dug up last fall and placed into pots and the rest had been in the original pots with original soil for over a year now.
Results so far. The new growth in all the pots is dark dark green and lush. So.. they like it they really like it!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Laura, which one did you get? I found Azomite at a store in Petaluma and I spread it all over my garden. I need to get more for my pots.

Springfield, OH(Zone 5b)

OK.. went out to the GH to take a pic of the new growth since I used the Adzumplus. What do you think?

Hey Kell.. Looks like we cross posted :) I have the Adzumplus. I think they are probably the same thing really but if you have the azomite we could do a package comparison!

If you look back at that picture I posted you can see new growth along the stem/branch on the right since I used theAdzum.. They have just all gone crazy with new growth!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I only took a pic of the front, Jackie. Yours sure have gotten great green growth. Say that 10 times fast. LOL

LOL, here we go again!!! I have some brugs that were just sticks with no leaves after the aphids got done with them over the winter. I planted one with Volcanite, one with Azomite, and one with Root Blaster.

That was 4 days ago. So far 2 of them have a couple of small leaves. I will have to give a better report tomorrow.

Please do, Jeanette. I am getting so confused. I have Volcanite too now. LOL...........HELP!!

Now what is Root Blaster?

Oh Laura, I put out labels side by side last week and then got sidetracked. I have been so busy every day and every evening too it seems. Also a couple Daver's came to visit from southern California, so we have been having lots of fun for a couple of days. Being retired is hard work. LOL.

So here are our ingredients side by side. What do you think? My head got whiplash going back and forth. LOL

Looks somewhat the same and somewhat different... isn't that helpful?

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

Jazz I haven't found that around here yet.
Hope your Dad is in shelter we are having Tornadoe warnings, very strong winds with HAIL, my poor brugs are getting whipped.

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

So far the Volcanite and Azomite are neck and neck. LOL, maybe it's the "ites"? haha But, the Volcanite is kind of a grainy substance and the Adzomite (can't remember which spelling is right) is a powdery clay type.

Root Blaster is just what it says Kell, a growth formula. Sorry, I screwed up the label on my jar or I would tell you ingredients etc. But, it is grainy and looks just like the Volcanite. I got mine from Charley's Greenhouse but a lot of places carry it now. I do think it makes healthy plants.

Does that tell you anything? LOL

Springfield, OH(Zone 5b)

Kare..I hope so too.. I tried to call him but no answer.. It's nasty ehre too we are under tornado warning until 10:18 and watch until midnite

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

Ok, it has been 17 days since I planted those sticks, brugs, and I do have to say the Azomite is the front runner. Now I have to find Sidney who sent it to me to find out where to get it. That is, unless you can tell me where to get it Kell. I see you have a bag of it.

I will google it. Sidney sent me about a half a cup in a baggie. I use about a teaspoonful when I use it. So, I am being real stingy with it. I am also using the Space City fertilizer that Randy sent me. I swear I am trying everything.

Let me know Kell where you got yours.

Jeanette

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

How did you apply it, Jeanette? Just sprinkle it on top? I have been using a handful a pot. I am glad you said the Azomite for I have a local source for that one kind of. Zuzu from the Rose Forum lives in Sebastopol and she has taken me to Harmony Farms a few times. They have the neatest stuff. I see they do have an online catalogue but only sell 6 pounds online. I got a big bag, I think 20 pounds.

I love to try everything too! LOL. My only thrill!

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

Hi Kell,

Yeah another one of those places that makes you fill out all of your payment informtion before telling you that it is going to cost you almost $11 for a 6 lb. bag that costs $7.34. So, for $18 I guess I will have to think about it.

Thanks, Jeanette

P.S. I know they have no control over the shipping prices.

Springfield, OH(Zone 5b)

hmm.. I don't know what they charge for shipping the Adzsumplus? A 20lb bag is $22.00 but I didnt' feel like going all the way to figure out what the shipping would be

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I know what you mean. I bought the volcanite awhile back for much less than the $30+ for shipping. My DH would kill me if he knew. But Gordon was hot for it and I knew Rj liked it, so I just had to have it. LOL

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

I bought the Volcanite from the Spray n Grow catalog. Can't remember what the shipping was, the product was 7 lb. But, I don't think the S&H was much or I wouldn't have bought it. At least if it was more than the cost of the Volcanite.

I gotta ask Sidney where she gets hers.

Clinton, CT(Zone 6b)

Hi, Guys - I am using this stuff this year too. Got mine on ebay from this seller:

http://cgi.ebay.com/44-LBS-AZOMITE-ORGANIC-TRACE-MINERAL-FERTILIZER-GARDEN_W0QQitemZ4350632332QQihZ001QQcategoryZ20540QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

It comes in the 44lb bag Kell showed. With shipping at $22 and $29 for the bag it comes out to about $1.15 a lb. I didn't think that was so bad. The seller is reliable and I got my stuff in about a week. By the way -- it's good stuff -- I have been adding about a cup to each 15 gallon pot for brugs and worked a lot of it into the new garden soil along with kelp meal before tilling it in.

Diane, do you have the sellers contact info other than that ebay number? I tried it and ebay said it was too old and taken off. So, no info from them.

Did you actually think it was that much better and worth the money?

Sidney sent me some, like a half a cup, and I have been putting about a teaspoon on a gallon pot. It really does seem to make a difference. At least something I did made a difference. LOL

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

You can get Volconite here. 40lb bag for $6

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

Thanks Karoke, I have Volcanite. I tried a test, one with the Azomite and one with the Volcanite and the Azomite won hands down. So, that is my quest this year. LOL

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

That is where I got my Volcanite Doris, and my shipping was over $30 I recall. LOL But when you look at it per pound like Diane does, it is a steal. LOL

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Jnette, did you see that Blaine dropped in for a visit?? He told me not to blab it, but I think the thread was a recent one about containers...

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

As a matter of fact Sherry, I am surprised to see you. LOL No, I did not. I have been thinking of him often and meaning to write to him but doesn't seem like enough time in a day.

Clinton, CT(Zone 6b)

Jnette - that is really funny that that auction is gone...hmmm..here is a link to the sellers ebay store. I just found this 44lb bag on the bottom of page 4 of her store. If you don't find it there...email the seller a question and ask her. As I remember she is located in Texas somewhere.

I found it. Thanks Diane. But, there again, with the postage it is $18. For 5 lbs. The Harmony House was $18 for 6 lbs. Guess I am going to have to decide. Sidney said she is going to a roundup on the 17th and will ask the person she gets hers from.

Shenandoah Valley, VA

Go to their website. I found a place in my state that has a 44 lb bag of the Azolite for $14, shipping was under $13. Some of you may be able to find sources in your state within driving distance.

http://azomite.com/distributors.html

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

Kell, they say $54.95 shipped to San Fran.

Hart, are you saying that the product was $14??? If that is the case, they are charging $40.95 to ship it to San Francisco? What am I doing wrong?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

See how nuts I am. When I want something, I want it. LOL It is amazing Tom lets me live.

Shenandoah Valley, VA

I'm saying the vendor I found in Virginia charges $14 for 44 lbs, but I misread the page - it's $15.50 for 44 lbs - and then shipping from them to me was $12 something. They also have a 3 lb bag for $5.

If you go to the link I posted, you'll find several vendors listed by state. Here's the ones in Washington:

Yes, I saw those and I wrote an email to the vendor and asked them what they would charge to send one to my zip code. I have been through this before with people from Bellingham and Vancouver. They charge as much for shipping as if I had gotten it directly from the vendor.

I am in Eastern Washington and they are Western. You wouldn't think it would cost that much to send it across the mountains would you?

I think we all should go to Kells and shop. I'll bet she has some of everything. How much of all of that stuff do you use Kell?

Clinton, CT(Zone 6b)

Yes, Jnette if you only order the 5lb bag - the cost per pound is much higher. I just don't let myself think about the cost of shipping - I price it out by the pound. Really..it will drive you crazy to pay as much for shipping as the product if you think about it. I got the 44lb - cause I knew I would use that much no problem..and like I said $1+ a lb is a bargain really. Also..keep in mind what we ALL our paying to put gas in our cars now as opposed to a few years ago. Shipping costs have gone up DRAMATICALLY for companies - I was surprised this seller wasn't charging more more shipping - that is what I paid back in February or so when I ordered mine.

Diane

Springfield, OH(Zone 5b)

Jnette, Maybe you could talk someone local into carrying it?

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

Did anyone check out this Co. http://www.wheatgrasskits.com

44 Pounds Azomite ONLY $54.95

Free Shipping on 44 lb bag in Contiguous USA!

Clinton, CT(Zone 6b)

Doris - that is the company that has the ebay store I linked to. About the same price $22 for the 44lb bag and $29 shipping comes to $51 ($1.16 lb)

Diane

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

Doris, where did you get the free shipping? I think the price they were quoting included the shipping.
