How do I know when the seed pod on my strep is ready to harvest?
You guys have inspired me to try my hand at pollen-daubing, and I have a couple of seed pods growing, and one is getting dark and looking kind of twisty...
Don't want to wait too long and miss the seeds. Help!
Strep seed pods
looking dark, as in brown? twisting as in a seam becoming very visible? Sounds like it's ready for harvesting.....
Sometimes I put coffee filters under or around the pod to catch seeds if the pod splits. Other times, I just hope I get it right.....

Thanks Keyring, I especially enjoyed the slideshow, you really get a good idea of the growth on them - how long was that from seed to bloom, approximately?
I looked at my seedpod under bright light, and it is still very tightly sealed looking, and just beginning to twist, so I'm going to keep a close eye on it!
Exciting !
here's the strep seedling thread with the superduperexcessive detail

Oh excellent, thankyou, I was trying to remember what that was called, but couldn't for the life of me, and searching the forums for "streps" brought up something like 598 threads!
And- superduperexcessive detail is supremely helpful for us neophytes!
Very interesting! I really enjoy all the slides and instructional info.
