We got a Super Duper Trade box from Jill today ! Thanks bunches and bunches Jill ! Every plant was package perfect not one broken leaf. Jill sure has spent a lot of time growing to send me all these special babies !
I love each one ! They all arrived perfect in their pots not one drop of spilled dirt not one broken leaf. Took a couple hours to open but well worth it ! ( Don't know if I'll finish packing your boxes tonight Jill HEHE ) I have one box must be packed before your's then your's and few leaf boxes hopeing to get out !
Ok listen to this oh my goodness was Precious doing the Snoopy Dance. She got the prettiest new dress from Jill ! Pretty blue with all kinds of lace and pink ribbon. I've already taken pictures ! Need to get some pictures of the clothes Lauri sent too ! And then Precious also got some Special treat chew bones and sticks which she has really been enjoying !

Good! I'm delighted to hear everything arrived in good order! The Glad Press-n-Seal seems to be working well for wrapping the pots & keeping the soil moist & intact... I hope it wasn't too much of a pain to unwrap, but I haven't seen any method of wrapping AVs that's not time consuming to remove.... I think it took me an hour or two to pack that box also, LOL. I apologize for the white fluff all over the leaves of some of the plantlets.... I used it when there didn't seem to be another good way of packing because of the growth habit of the plant (generally ended up using it on girl leaf plants I think).
I'm glad Precious likes her new dress! She is now on my "hand-me-down circuit" LOL.... our house is a sort of hand-me-down hub... for people without actual kids (yet!), you'd be amazed at how much kid stuff we have around. I'd recently sorted a bunch of things, so I went through the bag marked "girl 4T summer" and found something I thougth would be really cute on Precious! I'm glad she is not too proud to wear a hand-me-down.... only the most comfortable favorites ever get passed along, so my nieces consider them to be choice!

You are so right any good method of packaging african violets or any plants is time consuming . Glad I'm not the only one that take 2-4 hours to package one box ! And the time too open it. Just think of all the work and money, time that goes into growing a plant by leaf and the heart and kindness behind and all around doing this ! I know we would not want to package them to arrive anyway but perfect ! And all the time to package and open is well worth it :))

I watered all the plants just before I started packing, as much as they cared to soak up. I think the Press-n-Seal wrap really helped, and I also put some of those moisture crystals in my potting mix.
Did I send you Biscayne Trail and Sure to Please? I think they were on your list.... hope they made it into the box, LOL. If not.... another time!

Hmmm.... I thought I put in a leaf pot with a bunch of plantlets of Sure to Please... guess that didn't make it into the box... I'm sorry! I'll pot them up and hopefully have nice plantlets to send around this fall. Allison, I think I need to start a new wish list for you! :-)

Ummm... wondering, though... I know you have to do your packing when & as you're able, but will they be all right if they don't arrive until Monday? I know I shouldn't question your shipping strategy since you have tons of experience, but I get nervous about trusting the USPS with those precious plantlets you've been growing so beautifully for me!
Oh don't worry Jill ! I think you packed my box last Thursday, shipped Friday and I did not get my box until Tuesday... and most of them were tiny minis that need extra care and watering needs and they were fine.
I can pack a box will last two weeks ! I've done a lot of out of Country ! Plus if you live in Florida about two hours away where Eunice lives it can take 6-7 days Priority mail to get you box :(( and all her plants and leaves were A OK :))
But Jill your going to get your box on Saturday ! I am counting on it ! And all the leaves I wanted to send you were cut fresh this morning from the best spot of the plants ! and just package early 5:30 AM this morning along with the last six plants could not get done last night ! Most plants are pretty good size and they should all be fine.
Sorry I did not need to take a leaf off of you Royal Wasp plant as three broke off and I kept them. It's a good size plant lots of new leaves growing, pretty bustles, and always blooming. This plant and all your plants are in new bleached wicked pots ! Electric Cowboy had to get a trans-plant couple weeks ago she was getting a tight fit. so she is in a 2.50 as happy as get be with new flowers and buds popping up ! She has to be one of the best fullest Electric Cowboy's I have grown by leaf ! She has been happy in natural light !
I also sent a couple leaves of Ella's Peach Blossom (E. Kiesling) Single peach-pink. Scalloped, girl foliage. Small standard
I am pretty sure she is Vintage ! She's not big and new one from VG so first leaves I've taken off once she grows I will grow babies ! I think she is going ti be a real nice girl plant !
Sure hope you like everything. I wanted to send so much more. I ran out of cups :(( and space so now I'll have to start a new trade list for you for Fall. Or if there is something you may enjoy I have before then I can send it right out to you !

OH YES here is picture of your Royal Wasp taken yesterday on her way to you ! She has the prettiest bustles ! I grow her natural light and she has never been without flowers from the first time you saw here in a 2 inch pot blooming !

I'm glad Precious liked the rawhide goodies. She looks cute in blue, but I think pink is really her color, so I'm glad the top has a pink ribbon! I figured she had enough pink already... but now I've changed my mind & will be looking for pink for her!
She likes pink ! And red ! She has a sweater her Grandma made her and it's light tan and red trim looks nice. But she says she is so pretty she looks good in everything :))
